The Approach

Rooted. Rising.

You rise when you feel grounded, rooted in your truth. Higher Ground helps you find your footing, so you can hold your kids, your co-parenting and your own life at the same time.

What we believe

Still climbing

Life is a work in progress, and so is your guide. No one here has it all figured out, and no one needs to.

Earned, not given

Confidence comes from moving through hard seasons one step at a time. That is true for you and for your kids.

The high road

We do everything in our power not to villainize a co-parent or put our kids in the middle. And when a difficult ex tries to rewrite history, we protect our own truth by sticking to the facts.

Your kids, and you

Their future matters. So does your life alongside it. We hold both.

Honest over polished

Real stories, told with care.

Rise together

No one climbs alone.

The method

Four stages, one climb. Every stage ties back to what matters most: your kids heading toward their future, and you standing on solid ground beside them.

1 · Steady

Regulate, see clearly, stop pouring energy into what you cannot control. Kids borrow your calm, at 12 and at 17.

2 · Boundaries

With your ex, your kids and yourself. Clean, humane lines that keep school, activities and college out of the crossfire.

3 · Rebuild

Co-parenting systems, a blended household, dating and new love, and the big transitions: middle school, high school, the college launch.

4 · Higher Ground

Name what you have earned, reclaim who you are, and let your kids grow up and go, with you on solid ground.

What this is, and what it is not

Higher Ground is coaching, and it is personal. I am your guide and your sounding board: someone who listens closely, becomes a trusted confidante and advisor, and cheers you on when the climb gets steep. Together we work on strategy, mindset, boundaries, scripts and forward motion, so you leave every conversation steadier and clearer than you came. It is not therapy, legal advice or college counseling. When you need a therapist, an attorney or a mediator, I will say so and help you find one. If you are ever unsafe, please contact local emergency services first.

The high-road promise

Taking the high road doesn’t mean staying silent or allowing someone else to define your story. It means choosing honesty over retaliation, boundaries over conflict, and your children’s well-being over the need to win. We can acknowledge difficult truths without villainizing another person. We can protect ourselves without putting our children in the middle. And we can move forward without pretending the past didn’t happen.

Telling the truth is not villainizing or bullying. It is making sure your story gets told when an inaccurate narrative has been put out there, because that isn’t right. I live by one tenet I learned as a child: don’t do anything you wouldn’t want people to talk about. Don’t lie, cheat or steal. When the truth needs to be told because of instability, insecurity and manipulation, we don’t match the drama. Instead, we name what happened and clearly articulate the facts, to protect our kids and our truth.
